My comments on tutoring Desktop Publishing : I have worked with publishing programs since 1990 with large publishing companies.

I work normally in groups to mentor staff/clients or students to understand the importance of great design through typography and quality design using basic programs like pagemaker through to InDesign. Individual one-on-one is preferable as I can dedicate my time to bring out the creative expressions. Professional design can make the difference by setting you apart from the competition. I like to give a student the edge with eye-catching graphics and make a statement about that will get them attention
I am a strong creative, strategic and conceptual thinker with a deep understanding of the digital space and a genuine love for design and technology. As the Creative and Marketing Director I have successfully directed creative and technical teams, client relationships and new business opportunities. I enjoy leading and inspiring as much as I do rolling my sleeves up and getting th ... read more

Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

Web manager and usability analyst as well as instructor. I have been asked at various jobs to teach training classes to my peers because of my ability to deliver an easy to understand lesson. I've been told I am very good at explaining a topic that someone has no experience with at all. I am on contract with NC States Computer Training Unit.
I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

My teaching style is one in which I believe I can find the success of all students. I believe that each student has their own way of learning, whether it be hands on, visual, or by repetition of hearing. I like to interact with my students to pull forth their potential in which they may not see in themselves. I strive for excellence in everything I do, and I believe if I can make a difference in at least one child's life that it will be worthwhile.
As a graduate of Elizabeth City State University, I pursued an education in Computer Science with a minor in mathematics. I have gained experience in the these two fields in which I excel in. I have had experience tutoring young children at my church(math), as well as helping other peers during my tenure at Elizabeth City State University. In my experience as a teacher in the church,I have worked with a variety of students from young to old, from very intelligent to the mentally challenged. Thus I have learned to be flexible. One style does not suit all. With one on one or a small group, the ability to change to fit the student population is extremely important. Especially with composition, it is important to help students be able to write about what they see and feel. I think I can do that,

I love teaching and showing people how easy accounting can be and how much it helps you in real life situations. Most students get overwhelmed easily with double entry accrual accounting. I find it best to relate the material directly to the students personal life purchase and income habits. This way they can have a hands on approach and hopefully find the rules easy and helpful in daily financial situations.
As a staff accountant for a large, global corporation (sales revenue approx. $250 million/yr) I have very much experience in all areas of finance and accounting. I specialize in journal entry writing and reconciliations. My teaching style is adapted to meet the student’s needs. I firmly believe that each child learns differently. I think students either learn kinesthetically, visually, or auditorally, for the most part. I think it is my job as a teacher to find out which style best suits the student and adapt my style accordingly. I also think that while I am trying to help students develop skills in their weak areas, I need to be focusing on their strengths and building their self-esteem. I think tutoring gives great opportunity for me to achieve this goal.
For my first experience in teaching, I worked with both high school and elementary school students who were learning disabled and in need of help. I used the Orton-Gillingham method for dyslexia and found that it really seemed to work well to suit the student’s needs. From there I went on to work two years in resource rooms working with middle ... read more
