When I tutor I try and understand where they are having trouble and try to find the best way of explaining in a way that is beneficial to the student.
While at Springfield College I started tutoring some of my fellow students in the areas of math and science for a little extra cash. I have always wanted to mimic the kind of tutoring I received as a struggling math student in middle school. I was never the best at math until I started to receive tutoring and everything started to click. The extra help I got in math was essential to my studies at the university level and all my previous coursework leading up. I want to be that tutor who helped everything click.

I am more of a hands on type of person and ask questions so that the student can explore and learn on their own. This will help them to be able to really learn the materials. I also cater my tutoring to the students involved.
I have been teaching for more than fifteen years at the collegiate level and I have taught one year at the high school level. I also tutor students when I find students in need of extra assistance. I have worked in the insurance field for about fourteen years and worked in competitive environments in an actuarial department. I have also ran a small business for more than twelve years. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Monmouth College with a B.A Degree in Mathematics while being a four-year starter and two-year football team captain. I can serve as an example that studies and extracurricular activities can go hand in hand. For the first two years I was a chemistry major and my science coursework included botany, geology, and astronomy. Furthermore, my non-math and science electives were focused on ancient Greek philosophy, society, and recreation.
