Law is one of my top subjects!

I have just about ten years teaching grades pre-k through eight grade. I took the requirements to obtain a teaching minor and certification, except the student teaching and the test because I decided to switch gears and go to law school. I am experienced in both the Michigan Grade Level Expectations as well as the Michigan's Adaptation of the Common Core Curriculum. I have taught students who are both intellectually advanced as well as those who experience challenges with learning and have had great success with both. When I decided to go to law school, I worked full time as a teacher and excelled in law school graduating in the top 15% of my class. I also had success in raising standardized testing scores for the majority of students in my 5th grade classroom.

I pay attention to each individual student and try to figure out what their learning style is. I try to center activities around how they learn (ie. if they are a textile learner, I'll bring in physical shapes to work on geometric problems as opposed to worksheets). My teaching style is simple: get the kids involved. Make the subjects relevant to them.
