When writing a teaching resume, think about including a Prof

I like to break down whatever skill I'm teaching in the simplest form at first. This means explaining the concept of the skill in a way that the student can understand what it is we are trying to do. I also try to use a pictorial representation of the skill if that is needed. After that I'll show them how I work a problem with that particular skill so they can see firsthand what the thought process is and the steps that are needed to use that particular skill whether it is adding fractions or solving equations, etc. Then I'll give the student a problem to do on their own while I guide them through the steps. If they get off on a particular step I'll correct them immediately and get them on the right path. Once I feel they understand what is going on and how to work a problem, I'll give them a problem to do without me watching them and see if they can get the answer right by themselves. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have lots of experience teaching 5 and 7 paragraph essays, research reports, and how to quickly craft an essay for the GED or SAT. I know the formats and how they are scored and can teach them to you for success.

I excel at identifying each students strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I can quickly adapt or create lessons as needed. Most of my students look forward to our time together, as we have fun, but get our work done.
I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. In the work world, two have been highly praised for their writing skills. After homeschooling, I began tutoring. I have over 5 years experience and have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults preparing for exams such as the GED. I am experienced working with students who have IEP's and learning disabilities. Call or text at number below to discuss your needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Secondary Education-English major at University of South Carolina Aiken. I am well prepared to help with any English related questions or homework you have. I am on the Dean's List for the university which shows scholastic achievement. I have, or am currently taking, many English, literature, and creative writing classes. I am always willing to help out anyone who needs it.
I am very relational. I just don't give the answers; I want to be shown that you understand why that is the correct answer. I try to make English as interesting and easy to understand as possible because I know that for some it's incredibly difficult.

My tutoring style is somewhat laid-back with serious undertones. I feel the best way to learn is to not have information force fed, but to allow the individual to glean knowledge and come to an understanding of the subject gradually. While I am serious about learning and education, I also consider my sense of humor my strongest personality trait. I believe being able to interject humor into learning is often times crucial to the learning experience, as long as it comes second to actual learning.
I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science with focus on the Microsoft languages (C++, C#, ASP, dotNEt, etc.) The requirements for this degree was heavy in math. I do, however, feel better qualified in verbal and writing skills. I also have a minor in Philosophy and Theology. This ties in with my High School and middle school upbringing, having attended a Catholic middle and High school as wel ... read more

Learning is not optional. Remember...

I have been teaching and tutoring a diverse student population for almost 9 years. So far, it has been a mutually interesting experience for both parts, students and teacher. I have in possession a Bachelor's degree, two Master's degrees and an ongoing PhD. My main field stream is teaching methods and theories of languages, multiple subjects and special need instruction as well. During my teaching and tutoring experience, I have had the chance to explore different kinds of students learning backgrounds and helping them accordingly. I am a teacher and a tutor, yet, I have gone through quite an interestingly rich learning experience myself. I have helped students coming from wealthy and rich ... read more
