After graduating from high school as valedictorian, I earned a Zoology BS and a Studio Art BA from SUNY Oswego, successfully completing English composition, speech, visual arts, biology, zoology, chemistry, Spanish, and calculus II courses, and graduated with a 3.76 GPA. Prior, I had taken and earned over a 90% in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and AP calculus. While completing an MFA from WCSU, I began 3 years of service as a tutor with NY GEAR UP of The Research Foundation of SUNY, providing academic assistance to students, grades 9-12th in core and non-core subjects, as well as Regents, SAT, and ACT exam prep. I enjoy helping students of all ages learn. Education lays the groundwork for every goal that one aspires to in life. I love the English language and words. I feel that it is important for every student to come away with at least a basic understanding of how to write and speak. It will only help later in life. I am a certified Social Studies teacher in Pennsylvania working on completing my Master's in the Art of Education. I have 26 hours completed for Master and only need 6 more credits for completion. I received my Bachelor's degree in 1989 and worked as an assistant engineer in Binghamton NY until I started my masters program at SUNY Cortland. I have held Physics, Earth science, Chemistry and Biology appointments in the years that followed in a variety of School districts throughout the state. I have spent five years tutoring and 17 teaching, including 12 years of summer school. The best thing about teaching and tutoring science is that it easily transfers to all of the other disciplines.
