I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. I believe every child has the right to learn. I believe every child learns different. I believe in teaching according to the way a child learns. I am more open to the one-on-one teaching because I believe that this allows that student and the teacher to build a better rapport with one another, therefore the teacher is better able to understand how the student learns and is able to help the student better succeed. This is better for the student as well because he/she now has that one-on-one interaction with the teacher that they are not able to have in a traditional classroom. They are able to ask more questions, and understand their materials better.
