I led a semester long Beacon tutoring supplement course in Organic Chemistry that supported 20 junior college students. I have effectively tutored/mentored a number of high school students in general education coursework, organizational skills, and in preparation for exit examinations. I have conducted community based math group sessions for junior high and high school students. Finally, I have supported 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students in math and reading comprehension. I am an organic chemist with a Ph.D degree from UC Davis and I also have post-doctoral experience from UC Berkeley. So I am well versed with Organic Chemistry. My teaching style is quite simple. I prefer an active learning style of teaching where students are actively involved in the lessons. I tend to ask them a lot of questions and at the same time I would guide them to the answers rather than just giving the answers. That way they have a "know how" approach to problem solving.
