I've never really tutored before outside of helping my classmates, but even still I excel when it comes to teaching others tactics for reading and writing. I am extremely patient and studious when it comes to helping others learn, especially children. I graduated a year earlier than I should have due to skipping a grade because of my reading and writing skills. I took two years of AP English (Rhetoric and Literature) in high school and scored a 4 (out of a maximum score of 5) on my AP exam. I graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My specializations are in elementary education (prek-6th grade) and all-level special education. I worked in Hale Center ISD for the after school enrichment program at Akin Elementary from August 2012 until the program ended in June 2013. I completed one rotation of student teaching in special education at Hillcrest Elementary and one rotation of student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom at Thunderbird Elementary. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : Vocabulary, comprehension and syntax are important ingredients to any language arts class. Personal tutoring allows me to focus on your specific needs.

I believe in assessments to determine a childs strengths and weaknesses. I would want to have previous class work and homework assignments and determine deficiencies in a given area. I want to understand what the teacher is doing from this work. It is helpful to understand why you or your child is not being as successful as possible.
