Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! Working with your child to understand vocabulary, context clues and giving them strategies is what I would be offering your child.

I believe in assessments to determine a childs strengths and weaknesses. I would want to have previous class work and homework assignments and determine deficiencies in a given area. I've never really tutored before outside of helping my classmates, but even still I excel when it comes to teaching others tactics for reading and writing. I graduated a year earlier than I should have due to skipping a grade because of my reading and writing skills. I graduated in December 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My specializations are in elementary education (prek-6th grade) and all-level special education. I worked in Hale Center ISD for the after school enrichment program at Akin Elementary from August 2012 until the program ended in June 2013. I completed one rotation of student teaching in special education at Hillcrest Elementary and one rotation of student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom at Thunderbird Elementary.
