I focus on logic and fundamentals because all of mathematics is logically built on a very simple foundation that anyone can understand. This foundation is necessary but often neglected. I have found that the best way to teach math is through analogy and real world examples. I prefer to teach general as opposed to specific methods, as these are more widely applicable. However general methods appear to be best taught through specific examples and with a great deal of patience.
