I have worked in the automotive industry from 1995-2007. In 2007, I took a buyout from Ford in order to stay home full time with my two children. I went back to Ford Motor Co. in 2013, working part-time. My Bachelor's Degree is from University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering. My main focus is tutoring math. I Help Students Tackle Math With Confidence!

I bring both personality and creativity to math sessions, and I am concerned with the intellectual and emotional well-being of all tutees/students. Tutor: Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

When I was studying engineering at University of Michigan, I took a job as a tutor at Washtenaw Community College. This was the most rewarding job I ever had. Since about the year 2000, I have been working as a freelance tutor in the subjects of math, chemistry and physics. I also tutor students in engineering courses. I generally work with college students or upper-class high school students. Normally I work in the Brighton/Howell Michigan area. I meet most students at a public library or coffee shop. My average rate is $50 per hour. This can be negotiated, however. I like to take the students ability to pay into consideration and will charge less per hour if advanced payment can be arranged.
I like to work one on one with students in a neutral location. Small groups are not out of the question however.

Never settle for second place.

I have been a math tutor since 6th grade and have continued to tutor since that point. All of my results have been positive, and I can guarantee improvement. I have attended Wayne state university Math Corps summer enrichment program as both a student for 3 years and as a tutor for 3 years, an uncommon feat. I was a member of the Michigan league of academic games from grades 4 to 8, going to the state finals each year. Math is literally my bread and butter.
I prefer one on one tutoring to fully understand any shortcomings or misunderstandings toward the subject. I will make math more relatable and focus on the fundamentals to improve speed and to make future subject matter easier to adjust to.

Mathematics Teacher Grades 7-12

I like to have the kids be interactive with my my teaching. I have the kids fill out "fill in the blanks" while I am lecturing and I like to have the kids come up to the board and do problems after the lecturing. I also like to apply real world applications when possible.
