I enjoy teaching and help others learn the subjects of math, science and Spanish. Everyone is different and therefore everyone has a different style of learning. My teaching style is according to the student. If the student is a visual learner I will prepare a power point for them to view which would detail a step by step process of the lesson scheduled to learn. Very patient and understanding tutoring.

Experienced math tutor.

It depends on the student and what they are doing. If all they need is practice, then I will let the student do all of the work, interjecting only to give advice or to correct a mistake if the student does not catch it themselves. If needed, I will work out similar problems. If the student needs help understanding, I first go in depth why it works and why you do what you do. I then give concrete examples to demonstrate it so that the why makes sense and comes together with the actual application. Then I have the student practice to make sure they truly understand. If needed, I will become creative and come up with different ways of looking at problems so that they can make sense. But no matter what I try to have fun. The best way to learn is to have fun, and if you aren't enjoying yourself you probably won't be receptive to learning.

I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. I feel that I didn't fully utilize my strengths in school as I could have, so I would love to share that with those who need it now.
Very relaxed, easy going, friendly. I feel less pressure and non stressful settings help students learn better. They can relate to a younger person who is more in tune with youth and someone who understands them.

After graduating from an Ivy League college, I obtained my Master's Degree in Computer Science while working as a professional software developer. I also taught AP Computer Science for 2 years at an elite private school. I am an excellent standardized test taker (SAT, ACT, Praxis) and can share many test taking tips and strategies that have helped students improve their scores. I managed software development activities and projects at various software companies. I an excellent at explaining difficult concepts and helping people make sense of things.
I am patient, but have high expectations. I think most people don't really know what they are capable of achieving.

I have always believed that a good teacher is the best tool to help students learn. Having personal experience with learning disabilities, I do not think that they prevent anyone from learning; rather, they provide students with a better understanding of themselves.
