I like to observe children to determine what learning styles best fit their personalities and strengths. I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years in both elementary and middle school. Both of my parents are educators, so I spent a great deal of time tutoring and volunteering in schools prior to my teaching career. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. My strengths are in the areas of language arts, reading, and social sciences.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children of all levels. I firmly believe all children can learn if given the proper opportunity. I am a very hands on teacher, giving all students an opportunity to really connect with the concepts they are learning. I do focus on incorporating the different styles of learning because I understand all students learn differently. During lessons, I have students listen, write, do, and present. I feel students retain the information when given many opportunities to learn.
During my college career, I worked in lower income elementary schools to provide students an extra opportunity to heighten their reading skills through direct instruction. I think the key is in finding that particular connection because each student is gifted in his or her own special way. All people learn differently, and I approach teaching with this understanding and appreciation of the differences in all students and their backgrounds.
