A Little Bit About Me...

Mike's Guitar Studio is based on the belief that the students needs are of the utmost importance. The Studio is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. Lessons are catered towards what the student wants to learn. There is no one method that works for each student. Each student has different ways of learning, we recognize this and apply it to our teaching policy. The Lessons should be a fun and positive experience as the student progresses on his or her instrument. The primary instructor/ owner, Mike Benninger, has a B.M. in music performance from Keene State College and a M.M. in music performance from the Yale School of Music. Mike's Guitar Studio is located in New Windsor in Mike's Home Recording/Music studio. Recording can be an added tool for recording lessons, songs, pieces, and ideas.

Teaching, and specifically teaching music, has been my passion for years. I really enjoy teaching students how to play the bass. It's a thrill when they have that "Aha" moment and what I'm trying to show them simply clicks. Every student I've ever had has had different reasons for coming to me and therefore I approach each individual differently and I try to tailor each lesson to their needs. One thing I do keep in common with all my students is encouraging them to practice and to think for themselves.
