I worked as a writing tutor at the Valparaiso University Writing Center for most of my undergraduate career, working with students of all backgrounds and majors. I also have significant experience working with international students in writing and English language needs. When I am not tutoring writing or English as a second language, I enjoy tutoring American students in the German language. The German language and culture are my passion, and I love to help others learn all about German, the country, and the culture.

A Little Bit About Me...

Even though I know many methods to language teaching, be it the verbo-tonal, translation, structuro-global and audio-visual(SGAV) methods and you name the rest. My preference goes to the use of the communicative-cognitive approach to French as a Foreign language learning. Since language is first and foremost meant to be spoken, I am more interested in developing a communicative competence to the learners while concomitantly developing their attitude toward loving and learning languages. For if they know many languages, they shorten the world.
