My comments on tutoring Statistics : I employed statistical analyses regularly during my scientific research projects in order to verify the significance of the data and the relationship between multiple variables in my experiments.

I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me.
I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. Statistics is one of my top subjects!

I have been teaching a brick and mortar university for a year and am now engaging teach at an online university. I enjoy the challenge of learning how people learn and teaching them something about their learning. It is extremely gratifying to watch people bloom academically. My dissertation was in psychophysiology and its relationship to psychology. Basically, I was investigating if one can deliberately change psychology via psychophysiology. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with adults. I prefer a one on one direct instruction and mentoring, keeping everything simple and fun. My goal when working with students is to fully describe the steps necessary to solving various classes of problems, often in an outline form, for it is in learning these steps that a student becomes an independent learner. I like to work through as many examples as the student needs, gradually working them into the problem-solving process, until they are able to work a few completely on their own, or, in some way, demonstrate understanding of the material. I have taught problem solving to many friends and family. I like to explain the foundations of what they're trying to learn and most importantly explain to them why they're learning it. Once this is done, I bring the whole subject together in the end so that they may see what pieces of the puzzle they were missing. In mathematics for example, one may not understand the algebraic portion of integrals but once I explain the geometrical portion, things start to make sense.
