Have taught at the high school level for the past 10 years. I have served as a tutor at the high school and college levels for the past four years. I have my Master's in Education and have a degree in Mathematics as well. I have taught levels of math ranging from 8th grade math, all the way up to college level calculus and statistics. I love the application of math and finding the "why" in what is that most people struggle with math.
I like to take concepts and apply them to topics and fields that you are interested in. Math can be applied so many different ways, and when that connection is made at a personal level, it makes it that much more relevant.

I just graduated in May 2009 with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and am currently working on obtaining my Masters Degree in Human Factors Psychology. I also obtained minor degrees in English and Entrepreneurial Studies at USD. I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages. I taught dance for my high school years to younger children and I believe that has taught me a lot about teaching styles. I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate or in the same way. Students all have different styles of learning just as teachers have their different styles of teaching. Not only have I taught dance, but I also tutored through high school and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do believe ever child has that opportunity to learn if they are given the chance by a good teacher.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was valedictorian of my high school class. I was also good in sports and music. I went to college at Iowa State University and finished at the University of South Dakota with a major in communication disorders and a minor in psychology. I have a strong training background. I have held jobs in which I was a manager, which required me to train staff. I also taught computer classes (Microsoft, Internet, Basic PC) at Western Iowa Tech for a few years. I earned A's throughout my high school career; and I excelled in college in math, science and English, though I would no longer be comfortable teaching high-level science.
