SAT - Math is one of my top subjects!

I am starting my own SAT prep company this fall (see achieveexcellencehawaii.com). I am currently the SAT prep teacher (and upper school science teacher) at American Renaissance Academy in Kapolei. Expereinced SAT / ACT/ GRE tutor with perfect scores

Flexible - it depends on the student's needs and preference. One size fits all teaching is poor teaching.
My tutoring experience has mainly focused on SAT / ACT prep and ESL (TOEFL). I have also been a high school / middle school teacher in social studies / history / humanities for the past 4 years. I'm now working on my Masters at UH-Manoa. My own SAT score is a perfect 2400 (800 for Critical / 800 Math / 800 Writing , which I am happy to show you proof of), but even more important is the fact that I know how to teach the material to students at ALL levels (those trying to break 1500 to those trying to break 2200 for the SAT). A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout high school I was a teaching assistant at Iolani during the summer for English Language Learners. While attending Harvard University, I volunteered in a after school program in Boston's Chinatown community teaching second and third graders from low income families. There I helped them with homework and developed projects with fellow counselors to enrich their learning. Throughout my whole learning career I have tutored many of my own friends primarily in math and science.

When I meet with a new client I create a plan by finding out where they are having trouble with starting with the basics. I make sure each client is prepared with all the basic tools to succeed before moving on to a new section. It is important to have to basics mastered to avoid having problems in the future. I like to teach by example. I do this by creating a problem, showing the steps, and then changing the numbers or variables.
