I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. The latter mentioned characteristics has always been viewed by me as the hallmarks of tutoring. I enjoy teaching almost as much as I enjoy learning. I believe that basic education skills are the foundation for success. Progressing through school in Independent Study Classes, I am fully aware that conventional methods of teaching and studying do not work for every child. I invite and accept the challenge of discovering new ways to share the knowledge that I have gathered so far in my educational career. I think it’s important to maintain patience and provide support to anyone who may need a little extra help learning a skill.
I began tutoring in the third grade after I was accepted into Independent Study Classes. I was selected to tutor my fellow classmates in spelling and reading comprehension.
