My comments on tutoring Piano : Have played piano for 16 years now, and taught piano 7 of those years.

I have a lot of experience in teaching and tutoring. I have tutored for about 10 years now, starting with my fellow classmates while still in school and now tutoring one-on-one, mostly for elementary-aged children. I also teach - I conduct a teenage choir, taught at a Ukrainian school for 7 years (grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary), and give individual piano lessons. I've received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and have had some experience teaching all grades K-5. I am currently working on my Master's as a Teacher Leader, with an endorsement in ESL.

Very simply, I believe that an instructor should be a facilitator of the learning process, not a dictator. The best learning is that which is done by the student him/herself through experiencing and seeing things firsthand. I strive to get to know my students and make my tutoring sessions unique and tailored to fit each individual student's needs.
I have a masters degree in psychology, specializing in child development. During my undergraduate studies, I minored in music and English. Having worked in supplemental education for quite some time, I have learned to hone in on the unique understanding of each individual student's needs. I enyoy working with adults as well as children, diagnosing the fundamental needs and moving forward at each individual student's pace.
