I have been teaching high school math in the San Antonio Texas Charter system. I was hired as a highly qualified teacher and l recently retired in 2012. I believe all students are capable of learning the materials but unfortunately some students need more time or direction. My comments on tutoring Algebra : My math students exceed their class requirements.

With respect to communication, instruction, and learning, there is no one-size-fits-all model. I use visual, auditory and hands-on techniques together to make sure the student understands.

My comments on tutoring Algebra : Very strong

I did an Undergraduate in Science with an honors in Chemistry, followed by an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry. I was actively involved in Cancer Research in the Department of Biochemistry and have authored over 40 publications. Although I have expertise in Chemistry and Biochemistry, I have a passion for Math that includes Algebra 1 &2 , Pre-calculus, and Geometry.
My favorite teaching style is the classical Black Board style that may involve Power Point presentations. I am very patient with my students and like to believe that I have the capability to make every student learn.

My comments on tutoring Algebra : I have been teaching for 9 years. I do Algebra 1 everyday in some aspect with my students.

I have been teaching since 2004. I have taught in an inner city school ( four years) and I am currently teaching at Churchill High School (fifth year). I understand the struggle students have with mathematics. I understand the frustration when a topic is explained but understanding is not achieved. My goal in tutoring is not to make money, though I charge a fee, but I desire to provide help to students that have difficulty in math. I want to give students the tools necessary to be successful in Algebra, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. I remember my struggles in math when I was in high school and I realize the importance of clarity of instruction. My comments on tutoring Algebra : Expert

It is based on how the student learns. I like to explain the subject and then give and help workout examples. I learn by this method and have learned most other students do also, however some students need objects or physical representation, especially in lower level mathematics and I can accommodate every method of learning.
While attending California State University of San Bernardino and working on my bachelors degree in mathematics I had many opportunities to gain experience. I was a private tutor which included students from elementary, middle, and high school. One child I tutored, who was in middle school, was very bright but had ADHD and it was difficult for him to concentrate.
