Individualized to meet student's needs
I was a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing students of all ages and abilities for 33 years. I have a sign language background and use all modes of communication to assist students. My students varied in all ability levels from learning support to life skills in addition to hearing impairment. I also worked with adults in workshop facilities in order to help them gain meaningful employment.

My comments on tutoring Hearing Impaired : I have worked with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in academic and social environments. I have worked in in ASL, Signed English, SimCom, and Oral environments.

I love working will all children, seeing their strengths and weaknesses. I feel that all children can learn you just have to find the best way to approach each student's individual learning style. I began working as a Water Safety Instructor when I was 16 and taught swimming to people age 3 to age 76. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While working on my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in Folklore at George Mason university, I worked as a substitute teacher and then was hired as a full time middle school English teacher.
