A Little Bit About Me...

I have my degree in Elementary Education. I have had experience teaching large class sizes, but I have also spent a lot of time in small group reading instruction, and I have worked in small group math. I tutored a kindergarten girl to improve her phonemic awareness. I tutored Language Arts in elementary school after school hours. I worked at a day care for 5 years and helped students with their homework after school.
I believe in meeting students at their level of need, and mastering the skills needed in order to move onto higher level skills. I believe in teaching students how to develop their critical thinking skills, and teaching them the concepts needed to succeed in school and life.

I have a BA degree in Economics/International Studies/French from the University of TN – Chattanooga, a certificate in French from the Sorbonne in Paris and 23 hours in English from Arizona State University. I also have graduate work in non-profit management with a concentration in fundraising. Most of my tutoring experience is with high school students and lies in French, writing skills, and general life/study skills for boarding students.
