I've been tutoring since high schools in a wide range of subjects, such as latin, algebra II, and biology. The skills you use to teach yourself the material can be directly applied to someone else, especially when you find something does not click at first. I have a number of mnemonics for helping my tutees retain the material they've spent time learning. During my undergraduate work I was a teacher’s assistant (T.A.) for two years. As a T.A. it was my job to run physics for other undergraduates. This included both the calculus based physics and non-calculus based physics. I also worked with an elementary teacher as part of an outreach program to bring science into the class room. Two times a week I would travel to the class room and teach the kids (4th graders) science. Having a BS is physics gives me a great foundation in math.
