Special Education is one of my top subjects! I specialize in autism but have worked with children who have various disabilities. I use hands-on and visual materials as well as additional visual supports for students.

My style of teaching includes LOTS of visual supports as well as hands-on/interactive materials which are adapted to each child's individual learning style.
I have worked in the field of special education for over 20 years in the non-profit sector and as a teacher in public school as well as private tutoring in a therapeutic setting. I specialize in working with children who have autism but have worked with children who have a variety of special needs from birth thru 6th grade.

I am a high school teacher of 25.5 years. I graduated from Mobile College with a Bachelor of Science degree, and from Alabama State University with a Master's degree, both in education. My experience has been working with students that are academically disadvantaged. I have tutored elementary students in reading and language for over 10 years. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved to work with children. My job while in college was teaching children at a learning center. I also have tutored several children throughout the years that were having difficulties in either math or English. I have a strong background in math and English, but also have experience in psychology, sociology, and science. I believe a child can achieve whatever they put their mind to, but some times they need a little push to achieve that. There is no need to get frustrated with a child during a learning process because they are during their best and it is our jobs as adults to guide them in the right direction.
