A Little Bit About Me...

I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and strive to help students achieve to their ability. I have great faith in children's ability to develop proficiency in any content as long as they have adequate support. One size does not fit all in education and I use differentiation and different teaching modalities, with a lot of realia and manipulatives, to meet the students' learning styles and preferences, and the content area. I rely on colleagues for assistance when I am unable to fully help a child.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a high school teacher for 13 years, I have had a profound impact on the academic and personal success of a great majority of my students. I have won many "inspirational teacher awards" and have been identified by many of my students as the teacher most responsible for their success. They have said that I have made learning interesting, fun, and rewarding for them because I have a unique way of helping students make meaningful connections between academics and their lives. I have taught world history, U.S. history, geography, psychology, study skills, health and core English. I have traveled to 53 countries, been a professional singer, a collegiate national champion in crew, and a triathelete.
