I am currently a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Geography with a minor in International Affairs. I have an extensive background in the field of social studies, having taken multiple AP and honors level social studies courses in high school and studying it in college. In teaching childbirth classes as well as CPR and First Aid classes I have utilized lecture, audio-visuals, written materials, and demonstration/return demonstration methods of teaching. I have found that each individual has his or her own learning style and I like to tailor the class to the individual's style as much as possible. I do believe that some type of return demonstration, whether it be verbal, hands-on, or written, is an effective way to assess the student's mastery of the subject.
