Early Childhood Education Major Experienced in Tutoring

I have experience in tutoring and small group instruction in elementary regular ed, inclusion, and special education classrooms (including speech). Throughout my undergraduate, I have had many hours of field in experience in 2nd grade regular ed and inclusion classrooms and elementary special ed and inclusion, including speech. I have lead small group instruction in varying subjects, assisted in reading and reading comprehension, test prep, and study skills.
I believe in structured education while leaving plenty of room to facilitate learning through creativity and exploration. I firmly believe in meeting a student where they are academically, socially, and emotionally by adjusting my teaching style to best fit their learning needs. I am a high school senior in the AP/Honors program at Warner Robins High School. I have two little sisters who I have tutored since they began school. On average, they have scored higher on tests when I have helped, particularly in the area of social studies. I have also helped multiple students at my school. The average that they score on a test is typically ten points higher than when they study by themselves and, in some cases, twenty points if the student does not study at all. The results are typically better in social studies, the subject which I am most proficient in, but all subjects tend to shoe significant improvement.
I am hands on. I personally learn best from things like powerpoints and handouts. This is also the way I tend to teach others.

I earned a bachelors in management in 1994 after earning 2 Associate Degrees; one in Paralegal Studies and the other in Legal Secretarial Studies. The classes I had to take to earn these degrees prepared me to be able to become a substitute teacher at the elementary school level (K-5). My experience and training has allowed me to become very good in writing correspondence and thus my knowledge in the correct use of grammar, spelling and vocabulary will help me in tutoring students in these areas.
As a substitute teacher I never really was able to develop a specific style of teaching. Each teacher had their own way of doing things and each class was different.
