I love working with people and have done my best to always be doing so throughout my life. While in high school, I tutored and mentored other high school students. While in college, I started working with all age groups (pre-K through college), working as a mentor and a tutor for fellow college students. A Little Bit About Me...

I am driven to learn as well as to teach. I have a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and an MA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, both of which have afforded me great experience not only in the sciences but also in writing skills. Over the last 11 years, I have taught and tutored students from elementary-aged to adult in English, writing, science, math, and test prep.
Everyone has a distinct learning style and attitude. I relish the opportunity to present subject matter to students in the precise manner that invokes that "eureka" moment where they finally achieve understanding of something that has frustrated, intimidated, or eluded them. A Little Bit About Me...

As an older student I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education, hardly ever missing a class. I earned my bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, taking mainly writing and literature. In my master's program I did a lot of writing classes and I focused mainly on publishing, and subjects such as editing and grammar. Instead of taking Spanish, I took statistics. This was very hard and I passed all three math classes after not having any math for many years. I also did some technical writing and creative writing. My computer skills are pretty good also, as I had to learn how to do desk top publishing, and many other computer skills.
