History and English: NOT BORING! RELEVANT!!

As a recent graduate of the University of Oregon History Department, I have spent the last two years working with peers to enhance their ability to research, comprehend, and explain historical events through writing. This experience includes courses in Grammar and Literature as well as History of both the U.S. and the world. With a string of A-grades at the 400-level, I believe I am now prepared to help others find similar success by following some simple advice and encouragement.

I hold a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, providing me with a well-rounded college education. In addition to that, I am currently seeking a Masters degree in Education. At the end of this program, I will hold a teaching license. I love learning and encouraging others to strive to do their best. I have recently graduated from Grove City College (PA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology. During my undergraduate studies, I was introduced to a curriculum largely in the fields of chemistry, physics, advanced mathematics (calculus I,II,III),genetics and biochemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I am driven to learn as well as to teach. I have a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and an MA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, both of which have afforded me great experience not only in the sciences but also in writing skills. Over the last 11 years, I have taught and tutored students from elementary-aged to adult in English, writing, science, math, and test prep.

As an older student I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education, hardly ever missing a class. I earned my bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, taking mainly writing and literature. In my master's program I did a lot of writing classes and I focused mainly on publishing, and subjects such as editing and grammar. Instead of taking Spanish, I took statistics. This was very hard and I passed all three math classes after not having any math for many years. I also did some technical writing and creative writing. My computer skills are pretty good also, as I had to learn how to do desk top publishing, and many other computer skills.
