A Little Bit About Me...

I have graduated the University of Oregon in 2003 with a BA in Spanish Literature and a minor in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. I have a lot of experience teaching children and young adults English as well as Spanish. I have also worked in a public elementary school as an educational assistant and am familiar with different learning styles and pedagogies. I have extensive editorial skills due to writing research papers and reports in graduate school and am familiar with many different writing styles.
I love teaching and helping children accomplish their goals. I am patient and respectful, as well as empathetic. As an older student I was very driven to achieve a high level of excellence in my education, hardly ever missing a class. I earned my bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, taking mainly writing and literature. In my master's program I did a lot of writing classes and I focused mainly on publishing, and subjects such as editing and grammar. Instead of taking Spanish, I took statistics. This was very hard and I passed all three math classes after not having any math for many years. I also did some technical writing and creative writing. My computer skills are pretty good also, as I had to learn how to do desk top publishing, and many other computer skills.
