A Little Bit About Me...

I have somewhat a charismatic style of teaching in that I can quickly get excited when I'm teaching. When I teach, I am very organized and have a firm grip on I'm trying to relay across to my students, because I feel that one of the worse things a tutor can do to a student is to get up to teach and sound as if he or she doesn't know what they are talking about. I am person who expects a lot of the people I tutor as so I would hope they expect a lot from me as well. I encourage students to always to do their best and never accept anything less of that. I love to interact with the students on a personal level as well so that I really understand their strengths and weaknesses in order make them better.

There really is nothing I enjoy more than a good tutoring session. I like passing on the knowledge I have, and especially to students who have trouble, and then find success in working with me. I introduce every new math idea in the purest conceptual form, and then I show the student the practical use they can apply in their homework or on tests. I am a big fan of flashcards or a sheet of notes that reflect everything we learned in the session together. It enables me to show the parents our progress, as well as a resource for the student to refer to for help during homework or test prep. I have found that my methods work well for students who struggle with the basics and want to pass a class, and it also works well for students who are already at the top of their class, and just want a boost to cement their understanding or prepare for a future class.

To achieve a degree in Human Physiology at Gonzaga, I completed many upper level courses such as Physiology of Exercise, Advanced Physiology of Exercise, and Physiology of Aging.
