I believe all children are capable of learning. We need to adjust to help everyone learn. Student- centered learning and constructivism are key components in student learning. Once again, my personal belief of education is "You only get out what you put in".

A Little Bit About Me...

I've worked as an environmental scientist for the past 15 years. I have a B.S. Biology/Limnology and completed General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, Biochemistry. I have many years of experience related to preparing scientific reports. I enjoy tutoring.
I enjoy sharing what I know and have learned with others. I have a 7 year old son and believe patience is a valuable characteristic of mine. I'm also very easing going and get along well with most people. When tutoring, I first attempt to help someone understand a subject especially chemistry as structured in the text book but whenever possible, if the situation requires, I will try to simplify the subject in any way possible until the student makes it over the hump and then the text version usually becomes more clear.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in biology and chemistry minor. I finished with honors, while in the honors program and Phi Eta Sigma honor society and the Golden Key honor society. Throughout my college career I had the opportunity to be a teacher's assistant for a Human Systems course, and tutored peers in such subjects as General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II, and Biology I & II for two years. I mentored high school seniors and tutored them in the areas required for graduation. In the Dominican Republic I have worked with, and am still involved with, at-risk youth planning and implementing educational activities.

A Little Bit About Me...

My first work experience began with counseling Severely Emotionally Disturbed children and their families. In this capacity I worked with the schools in order to enable the students to see the value of education and to work through their personal problems in order to be successful in the school setting. I have been a teacher/trainer for 12 years in the Lee County school system. The levels I taught included diverse populations of middle and high school students. Most of my classes were comprised of ESE students and in fact there were several years that I concentrated on Severely Emotionally Disturbed students in a special program.
