This decision was due to the Police Department recruiting me to teach various computer classes to police officers. I have taught various beginning and advanced computer classes, Algebra II, and business math. I have also tutored students who have failed high school math classes. I obtained my BA in Social Work and have worked in that field since 1993. In 2005 I began a part time job as an Adult Education instructor for Sentinel Career Center where my primary focus was language arts/writing. I was part of the STAR reading program where I became certified to teach adults to read. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very interactive teacher. I find it helpful for the students I work with if I am able to relate a lesson to something else with which they are familiar. I like to use tangible learning tools and hands on methods, allowing the student to get the most experience possible with a lesson in order to really grasp and have deep understanding of the material.

I started tutoring in 7th grade back in 1976. I have been tutoring my own kids for over 14 years. I have been a Scout leader for over 9 years. I worked with boys ages 5 to 18 years of age.
