I think I can provide exceptional one on one tutoring for a student of any age. My knowledge has been spread out throughout my college years and this would be a great first step into teaching. I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I love working with children and teaching. I believe that children are the future and should be given the opportunity to do well and succeed in school. I like to do my best to teach students how to do something and then let them discover and practice how to do it for themselves on their own. I feel that providing good instruction and then being there to assist when needed is the best way for students to learn. I also understand that all students learn differently, so I would include the student in determining what strategies work best for him or her.

I graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. I received dual Bachelors' of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering. These have a advanced my understanding of physics, mathematics, and other sciences. In addition to lecture, I have completed several laboratory classes and attended seminars that bring formulas and concepts into a real world purpose. During my time in Missouri, I joined the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). NSBE held weekly tutoring sessions for afterschool programs with kids in grades 5-12.
Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone.
