I believe teaching is the key to each child's future. When presented with the chance to succeed, I believe each child will. I believe in presenting each child with a verbal and visual explanation of each objective. I then believe that each child needs the chance to complete a task with encouragement and success before independent work. Assessment should only be taken AFTER a child has experienced numerous chances for understanding, practice, and mastery. Flexibility is another thing that many students are not allowed in class, and I believe is very important to success. This is permitted in my classes on an as-needed basis. As a foster parent, I tutored our first child as he progressed through kindergarten and the first grade. His previous school experience was lacking at best, and he had little confidence in his scholastic ability. I was able to pinpoint his natural aptitude--mathematics--and use it to help not only boost his self-esteem regarding academics, but also to tailor my approach to his other subjects as well. Since math is very much tied to logic, using logical constructs to aid him in his critical thinking proved fruitful in showing him how to solve problems regarding tasks such as alphabetization, grammar, and spelling, among others.

I was Director of the Paralegal Studies Program at Stautzenberger College (Cleveland) which educates students for postitions in the legal field and court reporting. I developed the courses and conducted seminars on federal funding, grants and contracts.
Totally student-centered. I encourage rather than demand. I believe that it is my responsibility to find the teaching method which is most effective for a student to learn. A Little Bit About Me...

I value education to the highest degree. I graduated in May earning a BA in Business Administration with dual concentrations in Sports Management and Marketing. Although I have only one official year of tutoring experience, I have made a habit of helping other students with course work since high school. I will be attending law school in the fall, and plan to earn by MBA as well. A Little Bit About Me...

I am 21 years, graduating Alpha Chi in May of 2009 with a bachelors in science. I have great passion for science and have excellent communication skills with students my age and higher. Since my freshman year I have tutored students in math, sociology, biology and environmental science.
Teaching is my favorite part about being a biologist, i have help many students who are off to medical school, pharmacy school and biotechnology in fall 2009. I have been tutoring for four years now and I now that I am the right person to help educate my fellow peers into making it in life.
