Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects! During many of my college courses, I have been asked to read and then to write about what I read. The only away to write about something, is to comprehend it fully. From my tutoring experience, I learned that students all learn differently. I will make sure I tailor my teaching methods to your specific strengths. As a student, you will learn to comprehend by elaborate brainstorming, oral recitation of reading material and summarization.
Growing up, I observed how some students in my classes instantly understood and learned quicker than me. I understood the same thing they did, because I received similar grades. The difference was in how information was taught. As a tutor, my goal is to evaluate a students best method of learning. This is done by asking the student, guardian and presenting a student with different techniques of learning (visual, verbal, and hands-on).
My teaching experience started as a volunteer tutor for ESL learners. For two years I volunteered at the Benjamin Franklin Library, located in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.
