A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BA in Chemistry at Kalamazoo College. Along with my interests in the Natural Sciences, I have developed a strong passion for teaching. This passion has developed over the last four years, as I have held a position as a teacher’s assistant in the art classroom at a low-income elementary school in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In my teaching I stress fundamental design principles, technique and color theory. I am also invested in exposing students to art history which I believe enriches,informs and helps to shape a students own individual style. I have instructed adult classes in oil painting that focus on the figure, landscape and portraiture. Currently I implement arts integrated programs for K-8 in the Chicago Public Schools as a contractor.
