American Sign Language Tutor

I have taken all the sign language courses at Modesto Junior College (these classes are of the same curriculum as Stanislaus State). I received an "A" on all of my coursework. I then was asked by the sign language instructor at MJC to become her teaching assistant. I was in charge of teaching on my own when the instructor was called away to business. I instructed the students under the direction of the instructor. I tutored the students in the tutoring center at MJC.
I believe that it is best for the student to let me know what needs they have in order for me to help them become more fluent in sign language. Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am currently enrolled in the Interpreter Training Program (IPP) at Ohlone College. I am fluent in American Sign Language production as well as linguistics.

I recieved top marks in all ASL classes 101 through 104 Upon completion I was accepted into the Ohlone College IPP Program and will be a certified interpreter in 2013. I believe in individualized teaching. In my sixth grade classroom, I individualized instruction wherever possible. In reading I tested my students and placed them in books at their reading level. I had them write reading summaries and corrected their first drafts. In sixth weeks, I retested and in most instances moved students to a higher level. In my math classes, I tested students and had them begin at the level that they needed to master. If a student could not add, I had him work on his addition skills. From the age of six years old to his senior year in high school, I tutored my brother in all subjects, from math and english to electives.
