Spanish is one of my top subjects!

I graduated high school with a full International Baccalaureate Program Diploma, and a 4.53 weighted GPA. I then went on to receive a full ride scholarship to Santa Clara University for Computer Engineering, where I took part in the University's Honors Program. There I completed 3 years of study in computer science, classical languages, and Spanish, before deciding to change directions and gain real-world experience. After a brief leave of absence, I entered Licensing Education Courses for the field of Insurance, passed the License Exam, and went to work as the Vice President of Marketing for Financial and Insurance Services, an independent insurance brokerage in Fresno, CA. I have been teaching for twenty seven years in various grades, schools, and types of classes. I taught for 16 years in a bilingual classroom. My last 11 years of teaching have been in a traditional classroom. I have taught every grade level from 1st to 7th, and currently, I even teach an ESL class after school. I had no intention of teaching when I started my career in Psychology and the Analytical Chemistry industry. I continuously tried to improve my methadology to arrive at the right mix of stimulation and information to make the learning process as interesting as possible. At the University of California-Berkeley, I have pursued my academic interests and personal convictions through a variety of study, work and volunteer experiences. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children. My theory of teaching is using the multiple intelligence theory. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn but in their own way. I like to incoporate different styles of learning in a lesson. I also like to incorporate hands on activities, because I believe that doing is learning.
I have been working with children from K-12 grade since 2001. I was part of the Math Academy in 2002. I have been subsituting in grades K-8 since 2009.
