I believe that it is essential to master the basics of the language before moving forward. You shouldn't build a house on a weak foundation. You may know a million awesome German words but if you cannot place them, conjugate them, or pronounce them properly then you might as well just use online translations. I am very passionate about the German language and want to inspire my students to love learning German the right way.

My comments on tutoring German : I took German for 5 years from 8th grade through senior year. I am a little rusty now, but am capable of basic understanding.

I do not have a definitive teaching style. When teaching someone, I usually try to adapt to their learning style, and if they do not have a strategy that works, I help them develop a good learning style and get comfortable with it. I like to think I make learning difficult things more fun and approachable.
I absolutely love performing and any aspect of theatre. I love learning and growing in my theatre knowledge and experiences. I have been performing in some way my whole world and love to share my passion with others. I also love English and Shakespeare; obviously these both go hand in hand with theatre!

Being a current student myself, I can appreciate the hardships and struggles of education. I feel that you must always level with your students, no matter what the age. I try to devote the day to getting kids interested in learning while covering the topics necessary. I cater to each child's needs and abilities and try to use their strength's to help their weaknesses. For example when teaching foreign language, if a child is not as strong in language as they are in math, I try to use formulas to portray language in a more concrete manner. I enjoy working with children of all ages and find that they enjoy working with me due to the enthusiasm I show them.
