As a Georgetown University graduate with a degree in government, I have extensive knowledge of various social sciences which I plan on taking to law school. In addition, I am a near-native speaker of Italian and am proficient in Spanish. I have a passion for both languages, and would love to be able to share that passion with students. I like teaching one on one. This makes it easier for me to explain to the student and understand them. Smaller groups also work well for me. I was a hands on student that learned through images and repetition. I believe this is a good way to learn not memorize. If you memorize you will forget, and that is pointless in the long run.
I graduated from St. Joseph's College in spring 2009 with a BS in biology. I graduated with a 3.2 gpa. I played softball for 4 years in college and was ranked 18th in the nation in my junior year. After graduating from college with a BA, I began working for an environmental restoration and public education program. We led large volunteer groups sometime of more than 100 people, in local park and forest restoration event, and also led youth groups on 10 day restoration and hiking trips in the national forest. After this I worked for a program that places tutors in schools that are in need, where i tutored K-5 students in reading, led a ESL class of about 10 students, and worked as a teachers assistant in the class room. I have spent the last several years at a monastery where I have had experience mentoring and working with the public in meditation programs.
