A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent graduate of Saint John’s University, I possess many skills that make me a great tutor candidate. I graduated with a BA in Biology, along with a minor in secondary education and teaching certification pending the completion of my student teaching in fall 2010. Throughout college, I held many teaching and tutoring positions. I was a site coordinator for the Fast Forward Youth Program, where I tutored underrepresented high school students and helped them gain college access. Other positions included counseling high school students at a youth in theology and ministry institute and volunteering as a catechist for 5th grade students at the St. Joseph Lab School.

I love working with all ages and generally prefer English as a Second Language students, but I enjoy working with everyone. My teaching style is very student centered as I try to figure out what a learner likes to learn and cater the instruction to them so it stays fun and educational. I do not necessarily prescribe to a particular approach to teaching as I believe it takes a variety to make a difference. Every learner is different. A Little Bit About Me...

I began my college career in the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota. During my five semesters in the program I was able to study calculus and physics. I am familiar with high school level physics and mathematics up to and including pre-calculus. After five semesters at the University I transferred to St. Cloud State University to study economics. I honed my statistical and grammatical skills by writing research papers there. During my time at St. Cloud State University I tutored at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. For three semesters there I tutored students in math up to pre-calculus (including trigonometry), statistics, economics, and physics.
