American History is one of my top subjects! Attended Salisbury University for a year in hopes of Pursuing a History Degree. Definitely a History Buff.

I believe we can only help those who wish to help themselves. My teaching style is pretty straight forward - to make the child/teenager want to learn. Make the subject matter interesting to them and approach it from their perspective. If you motivate them to make the effort the rest will happen naturally.
I graduated from Washington High in 2006 with my High School Diploma. From there I went to Worwic Community College part time while working full time to pursue an Associates of the Arts in General Studies. This degree was completed in 2010. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate I have done tutoring to enhance my credibility to teach possibly in the future with my major in criminal justice. I'm currently enrolled for my Masters in criminal justice and criminology, and I plan to futher my education to teach within that field. During the last past 3 summers I have tutored young children as well as been a mentor to their studies. I enjoy working in this field of study, and plan to continue to do so.
As stated above I enjoy working with children of all ages, I have made a difference in their lives as well as them making a difference in my life. Public school is not always rigorous enough for gifted students. When instruction fails to keep students engaged, they learn poor study habits. Ideally, students master study techniques before entering college either through school instruction or tutoring. I have writing, public speaking and other communications courses at the university level. While at Salisbury University, I studied Environmental Issues and firmly believe in the theory I learned that education in the beginning for everything. I have always loved learning, and as a result, I also pursued a minor in Chemistry, for the sheer love of science. Immediately after college, I spent the summer teaching riding lessons at a camp in Colorado. In the evenings, I took off my cowboy boots and spent my time acting as co-counselor in a cabin full of elementary to middle school aged girls, depending on the session. A Little Bit About Me...

For 9 of my 31 years in education, I was a classroom teacher. For 22 of those years, I was a reading teacher and instructional resource teacher. These positions required me to test students who were new to the district, do turnkey workshops for the faculty of the school in which I worked and also plan and devise curriculum suggestions with the administration of the school district.
