My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : My math students exceed their class requirements.

I am the founder and president of The Learning Curve of San Antonio, a tutoring service which specializes in math/ science and test taking. I have experience working with many different types of students. On one end, I have worked with outstanding math and chemistry students from some of the best private schools in San Antonio helping them to sharpen their understanding and application of the material. On the other end, I have also helped many struggling students learn some of the harder concepts of algebra, geometry, problem-solving, and chemistry. All of my students have been able to improve their test scores and homework grades.
With respect to communication, instruction, and learning, there is no one-size-fits-all model. I use visual, auditory and hands-on techniques together to make sure the student understands.

My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Very Strong

My favorite teaching style is the classical Black Board style that may involve Power Point presentations. I am very patient with my students and like to believe that I have the capability to make every student learn.
I did an Undergraduate in Science with an honors in Chemistry, followed by an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry. I was actively involved in Cancer Research in the Department of Biochemistry and have authored over 40 publications. Although I have expertise in Chemistry and Biochemistry, I have a passion for Math that includes Algebra 1 &2 , Pre-calculus, and Geometry.

While attending California State University of San Bernardino and working on my bachelors degree in mathematics I had many opportunities to gain experience. I was a private tutor which included students from elementary, middle, and high school. One child I tutored, who was in middle school, was very bright but had ADHD and it was difficult for him to concentrate. I worked with him for about a year and by the time he was ready for high school, he was at the top of his class and was ready to start Geometry in high school. I tutored high schools students through programs such as Upward Bound as well as Inland Counties Mathematics Project.
