Every since I was little, I realized that I wanted to help others. I taught a bunch of young female children about field hockey. I have tutored my cousins in all of the areas listed and it helped them with their studies and their education. While I tutor, I like to have music playing in the background softly. I am available during the academic school semesters and the rest of the remaining summertime. I do have a full time job, and the only time that I am available now would be after 1 pm to about 6 pm throughout the week and weekend.
I am more of a hands on,and mainly a lot of visuals as well as worksheets. Sometimes I use music, artists, sports and current events as a reference.

I chose texts from a variety of backgrounds- the multicultural approach was both ideal and necessary in that setting. I then emphasized the similarities between the texts and the need for standardization in language use. One method which succeeded was my attempt to improve the students' vocabularies by breaking words into their most basic components; they learned to define words which they might not otherwise have recognized. A Little Bit About Me...

My B.A.in English from the University of Maine at Augusta, where I graduated magna cum laude, and my participation in the ProLiteracy America program as a Literacy Volunteer was inspired by my life-long love of literature. I have taken courses in Interpersonal Communications, Ethics, and Advanced Technical Communications, all of which expand my purview as a tutor. I am an avid bibliophile and am well acquainted with both American and European literature with an emphasis on Shakespeare.
