As a tutor, I find that it is important to present the material to the students in a way that they can relate to. My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. Positive responses to students are extremely valuable, even if they may occasionally give the wrong answer. This will give them the motivation to do well. My philosophy is that teaching is part knowledge, part communication, and part intuition. My intuition is necessary to understand where a student is getting stuck. A Little Bit About Me...

After completing my student teaching at Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky I was offered a position to teach English at another one of the military schools located on the base. I had thoroughly enjoyed teaching Senior English-it presented a challenge to me as I was only 22 and my "students" were 17 and 18 years old. I helped supervise the Senior play and talent show and found it to be a rewarding experience helping these students to grow in their knowledge of English grammar and to learn to appreciate their study of English literature.
