For individualized instruction I mainly use a questioning process to lead individual students to discover how to process the math problems. This has them involved with building the solutions to the various problems and helps reinforce what they already know. I feel that since tutoring is typically a one-one-one interaction, each student needs a teaching style that is best suited for how they learn. For mathematics, the method that typically works the best is repetition. I have had the opportunity to teach college students for 3 years while getting my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University.
