I encourage all of my students to abandon what they think they should know for what they already know, and to take it from there. I am a very patient instructor for adult beginners. I expect progress from all of my students and I set firm guidelines and expections at every lesson. Music students will also receive a solid foundation in music theory.
Education is a very powerful tool. I enjoy seeing students progress from square one to fully capable musicians. I have been teaching privately for the past two years giving private instruction in piano, french horn, and harp. I will be completing my bachelors in music performance from Ohio State this spring. I also give tutoring in music theory for interested students.

A Little Bit About Me...

My compassionate teaching style will be tailored specifically to the student at the level he or she is at. It is essential to make this experience fun, challenging, rewarding and a feeling of accomplishment. A child’s musical development may require a bit more attention span, overcoming the frustration of failures of early technique abilities, mood swings and other areas. Adult learners may wish to learn specific songs, or special techniques. In either example I would customize the appropriate teaching skills for the specific student. A good teacher can make the student’s learning experience enjoyable with a sense of accomplishment. My role is to allow these feelings to emerge, and the instruction to reach these goals.
