I have taught public school in the Montgomery County School System for 26 years. I retired May 2010. I have taught grades 1-6 in All subject areas. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1983 from Auburn University. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University at Montgomery in 1990. I have worked extensively with children in many areas due to the No Child left Behind Act. I have been to a Reading Academy, workshops, on the job training, and have been given title of model teacher. As a graduate student at the University of Alabama I instructed 3 college level physical geography laboratory sections per semester. A Little Bit About Me...

I start by asking the students to tell me exactly what is it that they not understand and start from there. I then like to work backwards from that point to find where they got lost. I also use everyday concepts to give similiar scenarios to get them on the right track. I find pleasure in seeing their faces light up once they come to understand the subject matter.

When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding.
